IT Service Manager

What is an IT Service Manager you ask?  A key team member who will have both technical and business operations responsibilities.  This person will understand and manage the operations of our business including working with our customers to define requirements, place orders, track inventory, vendor management, build PC’s and provide troubleshooting and customer service.  This is a new role to our organization and an opportunity for the right person to define and grow the position. You must be a self-starter and work independently.  This person is considered a leader in our company.

Key duties include:

  • Working with customers to gather technical requirements and translate into bill of materials.
  • Order processing and inventory control. Ability to work with vendors.
  • Configuring and building servers / PC’s – operating system and application installations.
  • Resolving client’s technical issues by providing the highest level of technical support via phone.
  • Operational process improvement.
  • Take ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution.
  • Have a high sense of urgency and a get-it-done attitude.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience.
  • Project management experience preferred as well.

Job Requirements – please do not apply unless you meet the following:

  • Strong understanding of technology components and server/desktop hardware configurations.
  • Familiarity with new and upgrade order process including quoting Servers (Dell, HP) and Small Business Network equipment.
  • Ability to specify and order based on a bill of material you created.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows operating system issues via phone support.
  • Vendor management and follow-up. Place, track, build and inventory orders.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as other common desktop applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in order to identify and think through technical problems.
  • The ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation.
  • Required to present clear ideas, concepts, and detail issues verbally and in writing.
  • Practice good follow-through techniques to ensure proper resolution of issues.
  • Ability to work on her/her own, as well as function as part of a team.
